Lower Moyamensing is located in South Philadelphia.

Lower Moyamensing is boundedby Snyder Avenue to north, Oregon Avenue to the south, South 7th Street to the east, andSouth Broad Street to the west.

Lower Moyamensing offers residents an urban feel and most residents own their homes. The neighborhood is mainly residential with a majority of housing being two story brick row homes.

Lower Moyamensing is famous for being home to singer Bobby Rydell.

Major landmarks include The Brush Factory, Epiphany of Our Lord Church, which was established in 1889 and Methodist Hospital on Broad and Wolf Streets.

Once predominantly a daytime destination, Rittenhouse Square is now a popular nightspot as well, with a string of restaurants — including Rouge, Devon, Parc and Barclay Prime — that have sprouted up along the east side of the park on 18th Street.

Rittenhouse Square is easily accessible with two train stations nearby. Suburban Station and Amtrak’s 30th Street Station are a short walk or cab ride away from any neighborhood point. Septa bus stops are located throughout the neighborhood.
