PHILADELPHIA — The dreamy corner spot at Pine and Quince Streets in Washington Square West last occupied by the Farm & Fisherman (and Paul, before that) will become a white-tablecloth BYOB called Aroma.

Antonio Cardillo and business partner Susan Dennis promise a quick turn-around for Aroma (1120 Pine St.), perhaps opening within a month.

Cardillo, a Neapolitan native who was the longtime chef-owner of Tulipano Nero in Mount Laurel (and cooked at La Veranda, La Buca, La Collina, and most recently, Center City’s Cibo) promises upmarket, modern Italian cooking and a total average price of $35 to $40 a person. “There’s no reason to kill people,” he said.

The deal was brokered by Joe Scarpone (himself a restaurateur) and Nadia Bilynsky of MPN Realty.
